The grilled cheese sandwich is so simple yet is one of the most delicious pairings for sparkling wine. The toasty bread and sharp, creamy cheese are the perfect complements to the wine’s bright flavors and cleansing bubbles. This “harvest” grilled cheese, which marries smoky bacon with the classic pairing of apples and cheddar is your sandwich for Fall!
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 4 tbsps whole grain mustard
  • 12 slices cheddar cheese
  • 12 slices bacon, cooked
  • 1 Gravenstein or Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsps Mayonnaise

On one slice of bread spread 1 tbs. of the mustard. Then place 3 slices cheddar, 3-4 slices apple and 3 slices bacon. Top with another slice of bread. Repeat to make 3 more sandwiches. On the outside of each sandwich spread mayo. Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat. Cook sandwiches until golden and cheese is melty – 3-4 minutes per side. Serve immediately.
